Consortium for Policy Research in Education (CPRE)
CPRE unites five of the nation's top research institutions in an effort to improve student learning through research on education reform, policy, and finance. The members of CPRE are the University of Pennsylvania, Harvard University, Stanford University, the University of Michigan, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
CPRE was founded in 1985 with a grant from OERI. At WCER this work has been expanded by projects supported by the Carnegie Corporation of New York and The Pew Charitable Trusts. CPRE builds on its past work in areas such as curriculum and student standards, teacher policies, education governance, school finance, deregulation, standards-based reform, and teacher compensation.
