Academic and Behavior Combined Support (ABC Support) in Tier 2 Interventions
The ABC Support project will develop (Year 1), assess feasibility (Year 2), and collect pilot data (Year 3) on the potential benefit of an integrated academic-behavior Tier 2 intervention to address low reading fluency and challenging behaviors (low engagement and disruptiveness) for elementary students.
The research is conducted in classrooms (Grades 1 and 2) in rural and suburban elementary schools in south central Wisconsin. The sample will include general education students (boys and girls) in Grades 1 and 2 who are identified as “at risk” for academic (reading fluency) and behavior (low engagement and high disruptiveness) problems based on universal screening procedures.
